Rock Tamers® Mud Flaps protect your tow vehicle and towable by acting as a barrier and safely deflecting road debris away.
When you’re on the move, an air whirl appears between your vehicle and your towable where road debris and particles get between the two. When the rear end of the tow vehicle is not protected, this debris can cause damage such as dents and chipped paint, to the vehicle. As your wheels rotate, rocks and debris get caught in the wheel tread which are then flung out, causing potential damage to the towable behind you.
Rock Tamers® Mud Flaps are recommended for those who often drive in sandy areas and unsealed or gravel roads. Tow vehicles with larger tyres with aggressive all-terrain or mud-terrain tread, result in a lot of thrown rocks.

Rock Screen features include:

• Resists fraying/tearing when holes are cut for electrical and hitch penetrations

When travelling, the mud flaps need to be sitting at about 45 degrees to be effective. Adjusting the static angle will help achieve this. The static angle of the mud flaps can be increased up to 35 degrees from the vertical. This will enhance the performance of the mud flaps and help eliminate the chance of stones rebounding back onto the tow vehicle.
Clearview Accessories provides a free Rock Screen with every set of Rock Tamers. This lightweight mesh insert is also available to be purchased separately for vehicles regularly travelling on gravel roads and off road driving. This insert, when fitted between the two flaps, will reduce the occurrence of stray stones, debris etc. rebounding off the A-frame of your tow vehicle. (A loose-fitting mesh will last longer than a tight-fitting mesh)
The lowest point of the mud flaps need to hang a minimum of 100mm off the ground when hitched or fully loaded. The mud flap length may require cutting to fit your specific vehicle.
Rock Tamers must be removed prior to entering any drive through car wash.
To extend the life of your Rock Tamers, when not in use, spray the hub and fittings with a lanolin-based spray and wipe off excess. This will protect against corrosion etc. particularly when used in salty conditions.
